PJ Library Coordinator Job Announcement

Overview:
PJ Library sends free high-quality Jewish children’s books to families every month. The PJ Library Coordinator in Lane County is instrumental in bringing young Jewish families together, managing the program locally, and serving as a liaison with the national PJ Library organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage operational aspects of the program

Maintain database, spreadsheets, and registration system

Update participants’ mailing and contact information
-
Approve or deny pending enrollments by the 22nd of each month
-
Communicate with PJ national office re: billing, operational, subscription issues
-
Working with and nurturing relationships with the Grinspoon Foundation on many aspects of PJ Library
Design and implement PJ marketing plan

Strategize outreach to the Jewish community of Lane County
-
Strategize outreach to the unaffiliated
-
Customize marketing, promotional, and printed materials
-
Engage community partners in PJ marketing
Design and implement PJ Programming
-
Communicate regularly with local PJ families to connect them to Jewish community (concierge model, e-newsletter, etc.)

Connect PJ families to each other (Facebook, area-based programming, etc.)
-
Widen the PJ circle with public space outreach programming
-
Collaborate with Jewish organizations to strengthen programming for families with young children
-
Engage community partners in PJ programming
-
Follow through on programming plan (see “Programming Strategy Overview” for details)
Nurture PJ donors

Provide PJ updates to share with PJ donors
-
Design opportunities to engage PJ donors with PJ families
-
Support efforts to increase PJ funding
-
Participate in Jewish Federation of Lane County fundraising efforts
Grants
-
Small scale grant writing and grant reporting as needed
SKILLS:

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Engaging interpersonal skills

Impeccable organization and follow-through

Commitment to pluralistic Jewish community

Knowledge of Jewish lifecycle, calendar, traditions, etc.

Experience in project management and teamwork

Strong computer proficiency: Excel, Word, Outlook

Connection to Lane County Jewish and secular community
COMMITMENT:
20-30 hours monthly will vary depending on holidays and events planned
Job will consist of working remotely, with the exceptions of mail checks at the JFLC office and attending all PJ events
Hourly Wage: $27/hour
